Not Satisfied with Your Car? Get a Full Refund within 60 Days

General Motors, fresh off of its $50 billion government bailout, is introducing a new promotion called "May the Best Car Win." If you're not satisfied with your car, you're entitled to a full refund within 60 days of the purchase.

The NY Times reports that the new marketing campaign will feature GM chairman Edward Whitacre in its ads. The promotion goes into effect for purchases starting on Monday, September 14.

Interesting, putting-money-where-their-mouths-are promotion. I wonder how, exactly, GM will make customers state their cases that they're unsatisfied. Seems like some less-than-ethical consumers might be able to strategically bank on the refund and use the promotion essentially as a free two-month rental. The bigger problem for GM is that the best cars have been winning the competition for customers for decades.
