If everyone did their own trash runs that would mean more mile/gas/energy as compared to a centralized pick-up service. Is it better to take the bus or to drive yourself? I think a better solution would be centralized neighborhood dumpsters...each house brings their trash to one spot and a truck comes out when it gets full. @goodfella6969

Get off you sorry duff and take it to the dump or the landfill. As a matter of fact, if at all possible, cancel your garbage pick up, and take it to the dump/landfill yourself. This way, you save that much more money every month. The only reason you should have garbage pick up service is because you're either elderly, disabled, or becuause you have no transportation to carry the trash to the dump.
